It seems the new dublin speed limit is causing a huge amount of anger from both the public and politicians alike. Make no mistake, this is complete insanity and it should be stopped. At some stage our representatives in government must stand up to the beginnings of this complete Nanny state behaviour.

It has just been announced that Dublin City Council are to introduce a new flat rate 30kph speed limit. They are quoting all the usual justifications such as road safety, reduced congestion and making the city centre a nicer place to be but to be frank about it, it does not cut the mustard.

There was a total fall of nearly 63% in new private car registrations for 2009, after December recorded a 28.9% fall.
So December 2009 only saw 474 new vehicles registered, compared with 667 for December 2008.
So oeverall this means that we have a 63% drop comapred with 2008, with 2009 posting 54,432 against 2008s 146,470

Ford will launch the European versions a facelifted S-Max and Galaxy in January.
A new turbocharged 2.0-litre motor, badged STCi, which delivers 200bhp and 221lb ft,

Vauxhall/Opel has made Welsh-born Nick Reilly its new president.
Reilly has been heading the restructuring of its Vauxhall/Opel operations
